Rental Policies
Please read all policies carefully before booking. By completing a booking you agree to all terms below.
Payment & Minimum Rental
Payments are accepted in cash, Cash App, Chime, or Apple Pay. Full payment is required before the vehicle can be used. A $150 security deposit is required and will remain pending until the vehicle is returned and inspected. Rentals must be for a minimum of three days; one-day rentals are not permitted.
Authorized Drivers Only
Only drivers listed and approved on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle. If an unauthorized driver operates the vehicle, the security deposit will be forfeited, and the renter will be permanently prohibited from renting from the company. The renter assumes full responsibility for any damage, loss, or liability caused by unauthorized drivers.
Smoking Terms
Any evidence of smoking without payment of the required $50 smoking fee will result in loss of the security deposit.
Renter Responsibility
The renter assumes full responsibility for the vehicle for the entire rental period, including liability for any damage, loss, theft, traffic violations, toll charges, or improper use.
Accidents & Damage
The renter is financially responsible for any damage to the vehicle caused by accident, negligence, vandalism, or unknown circumstances, unless covered by an approved protection plan or insurance policy. This includes repair costs, towing, storage, loss of use, and administrative fees. Any accident, damage, or mechanical issue must be reported to the rental company immediately. Failure to report may result in full liability for damages and additional fees and non-refund of security deposit.
Traffic Violations & Fines
The renter is responsible for all parking tickets, tolls, citations, fines, and penalties incurred during the rental period. Administrative fees may apply for processing violations. Failure to pay for traffic violations, tickets, tolls, or damages will result in permanent disqualification from renting with the company and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Vehicle Return Condition
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received, allowing for normal wear and tear. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the security deposit. The vehicle must also be returned clean and with the same fuel level as at pickup unless otherwise agreed. Any late return will result in forfeiture of the security deposit.
Customer Responsibility & Security Lock
The customer is fully responsible for the rental vehicle from the time of pickup until it is returned to the rental company. If the vehicle is equipped with a steering wheel security lock, the customer must properly install and use it whenever the vehicle is parked and unattended and ensure all doors are securely locked. If no steering wheel security lock is provided, no action is required.
Extensions and rental modifications
Rental extensions are permitted under the following conditions: Extension requests must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled return date. Payment for the extension must be received before the original return date. Extension requests made on the scheduled return date will not be accepted. For extended rentals, Xcess may require the renter to provide current photos of the vehicle every other day to confirm it remains in good condition.
Security Deposit Forfeiture
Failure to comply with these security requirements may result in the forfeiture of the security deposit, and the customer assuming full financial responsibility for any theft, attempted theft, loss, or damage to the vehicle, regardless of insurance coverage.
Communication
The renter agrees to maintain timely communication with Xcess throughout the rental period. If Xcess contacts the renter regarding the rental, payment, the vehicle, extensions, tolls, emergencies, maintenance, or any other rental-related matter, the renter agrees to respond promptly and within a reasonable amount of time. Failure to communicate or repeated failure to respond may result in: Denial of future rental requests. Refusal of rental extensions. Additional action necessary to protect Xcess’ property or enforce this agreement.
